Alice & Wonderland Theme Bridal Shower
Last week, the bridesmaids and I planned an Alice & Wonderland Theme Bridal Shower for the bride-to-be. It was a lot of fun planning from the food to the decor. Here are the details:
1. Booking the venue: We lucked out in that the bride-to-be had an awesome party room we could book.
2. Choosing the theme: We wanted a fun tea party theme and Alice & Wonderland seemed like the perfect fit.
3. Party favours: We bought vintage tea cups which you can find online (e.g. Craigslist) or at flea markets. They have dual usage as they were also used for drinking tea during the party. Any extra tea cups that were purchased were used to hold floral arrangements.
4. Decor Details: The bridesmaid were all really crafty! They made a DIY banner and floral arrangements. Since it was after Easter, we were also able to find great deals on a cool "madhatter" hat & bunny from Michaels. All other items like the table cloth, pom poms, and utensil were all bought from the dollar store.
5. Food: We allocated most of our budget towards food with each bridesmaid either making or buying food which consisted of appetizers, sandwiches, and desserts.
6. Games: There are so many different games to play that it was hard to settle on which ones to play during the party. One of the games we played was "Writing of the Vows" where each guest had to write a vow for the bride and groom. After the bride and groom (who is played by one of the guests) will read them out loud. Everyone enjoyed hearing what everyone wrote and the bride couldn't stop herself from laughing as you can see from the above photo.
7. Opening Presents: Everyone enjoyed watching the bride open presents and it was an opportunity for her to say thank you to everyone for sharing her special day.
8. Professional Photographer: We loved having someone there helping us take photos! It was nice that the bridesmaids could just enjoy the day without worrying about trying to take photos - which is why having a professional photographer at the party was amazing. Everything was beautifully captured by Annie from L'Estelle Photography and the bride-to-be will now have gorgeous photos she can treasure for years to come. Thank you Annie for sharing your talent!
The most important thing about a bridal shower is that the bride-to-be and guests enjoys themselves and from looking at all the photos, it looks like we hit the target.
