A Word from the Bride

We both knew we wanted a destination wedding and when May happened upon the beautiful Alivila Chapel in Okinawa, Japan, Tim knew there was no other option.

We very naively expected the planning process to be super easy - what we didn't expect was how hard it was to trust our decisions based on a few photos (there is very little information on the web in English about wedding companies in Japan), the differences in the North American vs. the Asian wedding industries, not being able to plan for the unexpected (will the venue look as beautiful as pictured, will the food be good, will our photos look nice) and working with a wedding planner in a different timezone who's communication style is very different from ours. The final details, including picking a wedding gown and tuxedo, were discussed in person - for us, it was 3 days before the wedding!

When we finally arrived in Okinawa, the first thing we did was to meet our wedding planner to finalise the details of our wedding. Our wedding planner couldn't have been more professional and organised and the Tutu Bridal Salon is stunning. We had a team of people helping us and picking the dress and tux was so much fun. This same team will be with us on our wedding day.

We stayed at the Hotel Nikko Alivila Yomitan Resort Okinawa Hotel, which is located right beside the Chapel. Our room had a perfect view of the Chapel it looked even more beautiful than it does in the pictures.

Our wedding day was perfect - we woke up to clear blue skies, the Tutu Wedding Team was amazing and they made us feel like royalty on our special day. We really had nothing to worry about - every last detail was perfect.

Our fairy tale wedding was more than we could have ever imagined and we are looking forward to renewing our vows at the Alivila Chapel.
